Helen Louise Bading's Obituary
BADING, HELEN LOUISE MCEVER Helen left her corporal home on Thurs., Sept. 6, 2012. Born in Moody, TX, May 9, 1923, she graduated from Waco High School & married, Sherman Chandler. Moving to Corpus Christi, TX, she secured an Accounting job with the US Government, working in that area until retirement. After moving to Dallas, TX, she met her 2nd husband, James W. Baker. That marriage lasted 34 years, ending with Jim’s death in 1992. Helen lovingly cared for her parents & Jim through battles with heart disease & Alzheimers. Helen’s 3rd husband, Fred, retired from national sales & they enjoyed 12 years of companionship & travel. Predeceased by her parents, Dixon Connally McEver & Alta Cross; 2 brothers, D.C. McEver, Jr. & Harry McEver; and sister, Doretha Grisham. Survived by sister, Jane McEver Dixon, & Jane’s children: Thomas, Seattle, WA; Cynthia, Irving, TX; Jane, Los Angeles, CA; & Patrick, Portsmouth, VA. She leaves behind her niece, Maryann Mounger Gonzales, Dallas, TX; cousin, Wanda Katz, Battlecreek, MI; and life-long friend/hairdresser, Wynona Chastain, Waxahachie, TX; great-nephew, Fred Francis, Boston, MA; niece & great-nieces, Susan Young, Stephanie Butler & Susannah Albertson; plus, numerous other great-great nieces & nephews. The last 6 years, Helen’s sister, Jane & niece, Cynthia, helped manage her life. Special thanks: Marco Bucklen, Irving, TX; Maureen Zielke & Jackie Warren, Emeritus AL; Dr. Jose Rivas; Carole McKinney, Amarillo, TX; and Faith/Enterprise Hospice Crisis Care nurses: Guadencia, Elizabeth, Kerbah, Ann & Micki. Helen was ALWAYS generous & giving to others. Her unique style & gregarious laugh were a trademark. In honor of Helen, please wear something pink for the Viewing at 2pm & Service at 3 pm, Thurs., Sept. 13, 2012, Restland Funeral Home Abbey Chapel.
