Helen Wuanita Beasley Crochet, daughter of Blanche Hamilton Beasley and John Floore Beasley, born November 1, 1924, in Cleburne, Texas, passed away November 27, 2018, in Dallas, Texas.She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Roy Crochet, son Joseph Roy Crochet, Jr., parents, and three sisters: Julia Kramer, Betty Etier, and Blanche Cole.She is survived by her two daughters Carol Ann Crochet Phillips, and Suzan Lynn Crochet (Elaine Mae Johnson), grandson Samuel Craig Phillips (Kristie Lynn Lagenour Phillips), 2 great granddaughters Adia Lynn Phillips and Melody Rose Phillips, her sisters Mary Amenda of Ozark, Alabama, and Barbara Hooker of Hillsboro, Tx.Helen married Joseph Roy Crochet, February 19, 1950, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Dallas, Texas. They had 3 children Joseph Roy Crochet Jr.; Carol Ann Crochet Phillips; and Suzan Lynn Crochet. Helen and Roy lived in Houston, Texas; Beaumont, Texas; and New Orleans, Louisiana, before moving overseas for 27 years. Together they raised their family in Libya, Iran, Egypt, Trinidad; Seychelles Islands, Tunisia, and Morocco. In 1984 they returned to the United States and settled in Dallas, Texas.Helen enjoyed entertaining and became somewhat famous in the countries she lived in for her Christmas Parties. Everything she did was grand, organized and well attended. She truly was a visionary. She loved ballroom and square dancing. She was a competitive bridge and duplicate bridge player.She was very talented, creative, and had a lot of ingenuity. She was an excellent seamstress and frequently made her own patterns. She also enjoyed crafting and thoroughly loved preparing for and hosting craft shows. Helen looked forward to going to Maudi Gras just to collect the free trinkets and beads to make into masterful Christmas decorations. Everything Helen did she made special. She and her sister, Betty, participated in the All Saints Hearts and Hands Bizarre for many years.Helen was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. Over the years she was a member of the Mother Cabrini Circle, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, the Trienta y Seis Book Club, and the Mary Widows.She was a loving and supportive mother who could always be counted on to be seen somewhere in the crowd proudly watching her children participate in their various activities.In lieu of flower you can donate to Doctors without Borders.donate.doctorswithoutborders.org/MedicalCare/DonateNowFuneral services will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 5231 Meadowcreek Dr, Dallas, TX 75248, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. There will be a viewing from 9:45-10:15 AM followed by a Rosary and Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. There will be a reception immediately following the service. The burial will take place at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
