Helen Lorene Freeman's Obituary
Born March 25, 1929 in Richardson, Texas and passed away May 27, 2017 in Rockwall, Texas. She was 88 years old. She was preceded in death by husband Willard E. Freeman; parents, Cleo and Louie Smirl; sisters Dorothy Belew and Cleta Badgett; brother, Danny Smirl. Helen is survived by Daughters Pamela Freeman vonMinden and husband Donald of Royse City. TX, and Rhonda Turner and husband Mark of Highland Village, TX.; two granddaughters, Lindsay Koch of Marietta, GA and Chelsea Turner of Highland Village, TX. Helen dedicated her life to her Lord Jesus Christ when she was 9 years old. She and her family moved several times during her early years as her father was a farmer. After graduation from Richardson High School, she began working for Great American Reserve Insurance, completing a career of 30 years there. Helen and Willard married in 1952 and raised their two girls in Farmers Branch, TX. After retirement, they moved to Lake Ray Hubbard to live out their golden years. Helen had been a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority since 1955 and had enjoyed a lifetime of very special friends and a loving family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Special thanks to Rock Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care for the love and care shown during her last few years. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Restland Wildwood Chapel, with interment to immediately follow at Restland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation at www.alzinfo.org.
