Helen E. Gambrell's Obituary
Helen Gambrell of Dallas passed away quietly in the early morning, Friday, May 3, 2008, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, with her loved ones by her side. Helen was born August 18, 1930 in Dallas to William Henry and Irene Gambrell. She was raised in Dallas and graduated from Forest Avenue High School. Following high school, she worked in the optical industry until retirement at age sixty-five. Helen was a beloved sister to two brothers, W.H. Gambrell and Billy Joe Gambrell. She will always be remembered for her kind, gentle, and caring nature towards others and as a devoted Christian who attended First Baptist Church of Dallas faithfully. Helen is preceded in death by her parents William Henry and Irene Gambrell and brother Billy Joe Gambrell. She is survived by her brother W.H. Gambrell and his wife, Jean Ann Gambrell and Jean Ann’s mother, Mary Grace Black. She is also survived by nephew Allen Christian, Jr. and nieces Cindy Self and husband Mark Self, Donna Busby, and sister in law Dorothy Gambrell. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Monday at Restland Funeral Home and service will be 3:30 pm Tuesday at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
