Helen Elizabeth Garritson's Obituary
GARRITSON, HELEN ELIZABETH MCCRORY of Amarillo, TX passed away July 18, 2011 peacefully from the arms of her loving family to the loving arms of her LORD. Born January 26, 1931 in Hillsboro, TX to Houston Short and Beulah Marie Casey McCrory. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill and sister Ruth, and former husband Melvin Hudson Garritson. Survived by her children Neil & Sharon Symington ( Poulsbo, WA ), Steve & Maggie Garritson ( Anchorage, AK ), Karen Yvonne Garritson ( Seattle , WA ), Graylen & Carolyn Limme ( Ft.Worth, TX ), & Kenton Garritson ( Amarillo, TX ), 17 grandchildren , 5 great – grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister Marilyn Sue (King) Rawlins of Bastrop, TX. Helen was a pastor/chaplain’s wife for 27 years. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education at Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma. She was a teacher in Mission, TX while supporting her husband in the ministry. Visitation will be from 7:00-8:30 pm, Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. Memorial Services will be held at 12:30PM, Friday, July 22, 2011 at Restland Memorial Chapel. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all her children, grandchildren, great grand-children, her sister, nephews, nieces, numerous relatives and many other loved and precious friends.
