Helen Ladner Gregg's Obituary
Helen Ladner Gregg of Dallas, passed away on November 25th, after recently celebrating her 100th birthday on October 15th. Her parents Leeta Hyde Ladner and William J. Ladner lived in Guthrie, Oklahoma, where Helen, her sister Mildreth (Mimi) and brother Jack were raised. In 1945, Helen married Guion Gregg, Jr. They had been married 43 years when he died in 1988. Helen worked with her husband at Guion Gregg Real Estate Co. which was located in Snider Plaza for over 40 years. She ran Guion Gregg Insurance Co. for 25 years and was a past president of the Dallas Realtors’ Wives Club. But most of all, she was an avid and talented bridge player, at one time belonging to fifteen bridge clubs. Helen was devoted to her family and always ready to help when there was a need. She is survived by three sons, John D. Appleby and his wife Mary, Guion Gregg III and his wife Shelley, and William L. Gregg and his wife Brigitte. Also, grandchildren Alden Appleby Hultgren and her husband Hubert (Hub), Shannon Appleby, Megan Gregg Kobler and husband Matt, John Guion Gregg, Felix Gregg and Kelsey Gregg. Helen had three great-grandchildren- Hayne Kobler, Shelton Kobler and Ander Hultgren. She is also survived by nieces Gail Cummins, Jane Morgan, DeDe Murton and Holly Riker, and also Taira Fujioka, a family friend of 45 years. A celebration of her long and wonderful life will be held at Restland Wildwood Chapel on Monday, November 30 at 12:30 pm.
