Helen Jones Stricklin's Obituary
STRICKLIN, Helen, 91, of Tyler, Tx was born February 27, 1926, in Dallas, TX and passed away on June 4, 2017. Helen worked at Braniff Airlines before retiring in East Texas with the love of her life, Ray. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the kindest, most caring, and unselfish person to all that knew her. She always had a kind word for everyone. Helen loved going to church and spending time with friends and family. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Southern Oaks Baptist Church in Tyler. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Carvel “Ray” Stricklin; parents Z.W. and Iva Jones; son Ronnie Jones; sisters Gladys Womack, Alma Hall, Eva Jean Pearce; brothers Howard and Boyd Jones. Helen is survived by her son Nick Stricklin and wife, Donna of Grapevine, TX; her daughter Belinda Brown and husband, Kevin of Alba, TX; her daughter-in-law Marion Franke and husband, Bruce of Conroe, TX; sister Mary Louise Perkins of Bowie, TX; grandsons Isaac Franke and wife, Donna of Montgomery, TX and Tanner Brown and wife, Abby of Ft. Smith, AR; granddaughters Sarah Stricklin of The Colony, TX and Lauren Stricklin of Grapevine, TX and Railey Brown of Sioux Falls, SD; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Honorary donations may be made to Hospice of East Texas Foundation. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017, at Southern Oaks Baptist Church, 601 E. Amherst, Tyler, TX 75701. Visitation 10 am, Service 11 am. Graveside Services at Restland Memorial Cemetery in Dallas, TX at 3 pm. Pastor Brandon Holiski presiding. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
