Helen Mawnee Martin's Obituary
Martin, Helen Mawnee. Passed away peacefully in her home with loved ones by her bedside on November 16, 2015. She was born August 5, 1917 in Pinebluff, Arkansas to Clara Bell and Austin Short. Helen was raised and educated in Pinebluff, where she met and married the love of her life, Thomas B. “Bill” Martin of Jackson Tennessee. They had three children, 7 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters and spent 68 years of happiness together. Helen loved being a homemaker and caring for her family. She was active in PTA and a member of Easter Star. Flower gardening, needlepoint, letter writing and cooking were some of her favorite activities. She loved to travel and entertain. She was always gracious, never forgetting to say please and thank you. She was a Baptist and lived her Christian faith. Helen was a joy to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Bill Martin and her granddaughter, Barbara Helen Hall. She is survived by 2 daughters, Barbara Bean and Claralie Hall and husband, Mike; son, Frank Martin and wife, Wendy; 6 grandchildren, Thomas Allen Martin & Wife Shana, Angela Brown & Husband Rob, John T. Hall & Wife Debbie, Boyd Hall, Bryan Bean, Bruce Bean & Wife Holly, and 2 great-granddaughters, Alexis Martin and Audrey Paxton. Visitation will be 11:00 AM till Noon, Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be at 12:30 pm, November 21, 2015 at the Restland Wildwood Chapel.
