Helen was a brave strong woman who kept climbing that hill in spite of many life challenges. She had a kind and loving heart. She was very witty and had a great sense of humor, You would never know her true age because 1. She was Beautiful 2. She was very active and still driving the day before she became ill and 3. She would never ever tell you her age in spite of many family members trying to trick her into telling! She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren after retirement. She loved nurturing her flowers and even brought them indoors during the winter just to keep them alive. She recently carefully planted a hibiscus in one of her favorite pots and said it was going to be her spring project. She loved all of her little dogs throughout the years and spoiled them rotten. After coming to live with Sandra, she adopted Bogie and Muffin, and began spoiling them as well. She even became friends with the kitties. She loved going back to her hometown of Gunter with her daughter Sandra. They would stop to eat and visit the land where she grew up and take flowers to the cemeteries. She had wonderful memories of when she was growing up on the farm, especially of her beloved "Papa". She would tell stories of her younger days and could remember names and events like it was yesterday. It would make you feel like you were actually there. Helen was proud that she had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and would say a special prayer for her loved ones each night before going to sleep. She will be missed every single day by anyone who was blessed to have known and loved her. May you rest in Heaven our sweet Angel (Mama / Memaw)
