Helen Catherine McMillin – Bovee's Obituary
BOVEE, HELEN CATHERINE MCMILLIN entered the Lord’s presence on December 22 at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home, in Garland, TX. Born in Anderson, IN on November 18, 1934. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1952 and Purdue University with a BA degree in Home Economics in 1956. She then moved to New York City where she was a buyer for Lord and Taylor’s. She married and settled in Dallas, TX for several years. Helen and her family then moved to Nice, France where she adapted well and continued to raise her family and was involved in children’s ministries with some American friends. After returning to Dallas in 1975, she continued her work as a tireless mother of four, a creative homemaker, a public school administrative assistant and finally retired from Exchanged Life Ministries after 15 years of cheerful dedicated service as unto the Lord. Helen was also a long time valued officer of the Muscular Dystrophy Association Women’s Committee. She was married to Ralph Bovee in October 1999, and has been a recent resident of Murphy, TX. She was preceded in death by three children; her daughter, Catherine Rinehart and two sons, Gregory McMillin and R. Brooks McMillin. She leaves behind her husband, Ralph Bovee of Murphy, TX; a son, Bruce McMillin of Carrollton, TX; grandchildren: Alyssa Rinehart of Littleton, CO, Brooks McMillin, Katelyn McMillin and Andrew McMillin of Carrollton, TX; a sister, Dorothy Gebbie of Raleight, NC. Viewing will be held at Restland Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00PM, December 29, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM, December 30, 2009 in Restland Abbey Chapel.
