Helen Venita Moore's Obituary
MOORE, HELEN VENITA age 79, of Carrollton, Texas passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2013 surrounded by love. Helen was born on August 20, 1934 in Tioga, Texas to her parents, Thomas “Leon” and Bessie “Alice” Mordah. She lived in EI Centro, California but returned to Texas when her mother, Alice, died when she was seven years old. Helen attended Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas and married, at the early age of 16, the love of her life, Bobby Moore, on August 31, 1950 in Dallas, Texas. The two spent almost 29 years of marital bliss together, separated only by his death. Helen was a homemaker and mother and later became an analyst for the Army Air Force Exchange Service from which she retired. During her working years she was greatly involved in Toastmasters. Helen was active in her church and sang in the choir for many years. Helen’s main love was her family, photography and genealogy. She was of British and Irish descent. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Bob in 1979. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Alice Mordah and her sister, JoAnn Shelton and her brother Lee Mordah. To cherish her memory, Helen leaves behind her sons, Jeff Moore and wife Diane of Carrollton, Texas and Mark Moore and wife Anne of Nolensville, Tennessee. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Matthew, Ryan, Lauren and Jennifer Moore. Sister in law Emily Mordah of Georgetown, Texas; nieces: Tracy Cross and husband Colton of San Antonio, Texas; Susan A. Campbell and husband Jerry of Austin, Shawn Leigh Poss and husband Brian of Waxahachie Texas; nephew Michael Mordah and fiance Patty of Austin, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12:30 PM, Friday, October 4, 2013 at at Restland Wildwood Chapel. A private burial service for family will follow at the Garden of the Holy Family.
