Helen Marie Rome's Obituary
Helen Rome passed peacefully into Glory on August 13th, 2019, moving on to join her beloved husband, Robert, of 59 years of marriage. She passed the same way she lived, surrounded by loving friends and family celebrating life.Helen’s journey began in Petersburg, TX on January 2, 1930 to her parents Owen and Nellie Mae Powell and her 4 brothers: Raymond, Goodwin, Billy and Kenneth. The family moved to Mission, TX where she met the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Robert, who she married and together were later blessed with 3 beautiful daughters. Together they embraced all that life has to offer including camping, boating, snow skiing, and world traveling, while giving back to the community being involved in Jr Service League and consistently providing moral, emotional and spiritual guidance to her family. Helen took pleasure in socializing and traveling with her friends in the “Daisy Club” and gathering her loved ones together, sharing jokes, filling the room with laughter, and spreading love and joy.Helen, aka “Nana” was blessed with 5 grandchildren: Jeric, Camille, Logan, Jourdan and Robert, 5 great-grandchildren: Jordin, Lance, Chloe, David and Korbyn, and 1 great-great-grandchild: Payton.While she’ll be missed in a way that words cannot fully capture by all those whose lives she enriched, her daughters: Cheryle, Connie and Diane continue her legacy of bringing love, light and a warm genuine smile to everyone they meet. She’ll be carried in our hearts forever.Memorial Service held at Faith Presbyterian Hospice Chapel August 16th at 11:00am. Memorial contributions can be made to The Veterans
