She was very instrumental in producing several youth musicals and contributing with great enthusiasm to all the youth programs. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years. Her biggest love, next to her family, was writing poetry, songs, stories, and devotionals. She wrote countless numbers of poems, many of which were published and still bring pleasure to people in an extended area. Her participation in civic activities included winning a position for one of her poems in the book entitled “Say Good Night to Illiteracy” with the proceeds benefitting the community through Half-Price Bookstore. She was a huge advocate of the power of the written word and reading for everyone. Helen “Grandma” will be deeply missed by her many friends and family with whom she shared her life and devotion to family and to the Lord.
