Helen Smith's Obituary
Helen Smith of Garland, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at the age of 79 with her family by her side. Helen was born on February 18, 1935 in Garland. She graduated from Garland High School in 1953 and lived out her years in her home town. A lifelong football fan, she devotedly attended the Garland Owls’ games for nearly 60 years. Helen was also a long-standing member of the First Presbyterian Church of Garland. Helen is preceded in death by her father and mother, Bo and Mary, and brother, John Hardy. She is survived by her brother, Ed Smith of Dallas, and her sister-in-law, Norma Smith of Rockwall. She is also survived by her nephews and niece, Chris Smith of Austin, Daniel Smith of Plano, and Heather Smith of Portland, Oregon. The visitation for Helen will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral service for Helen will be at 11:00 M on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at First Presbyterian Churchy of Garland. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road.
