Helen L. Wheeler's Obituary
Helen Louise Wheeler was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her 99 years of life. She died peacefully on December 13, 2022, in Carrollton, Texas. Born May 29, 1923, in Onarga, Illinois, Helen finished school in San Francisco, California, moved with her family to Tennessee, and married Charles on January 12, 1943. They shared 52 memorable years. She worked at Merchants State Bank for 26 years and retired as a Vice President in 1988. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and parents, Bill and Ann Hilliard. Survived by beloved daughters Carol Congleton and husband Mike of San Diego, CA, and Donna Petty and husband Allen of Carrolton, TX. She leaves behind cherished grandchildren: John, his wife Suzanne; Karen, her husband Brian; Janet, her husband David; and great grandchildren Caroline, Matthew, Charles, Benjamin, Sarah, Emily, Jacob, and Joseph. A visitation to honor Helen will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 5:00-6:30 p.m., at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243. Services will be held at her church, St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, Dallas, TX on December 27, 2022. Burial at Restland Chapel Garden. Funeral arrangements for Helen Wheeler have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery.
