Helena Nadean Day's Obituary
Helena Nadean Day was born January 23, 1932, in Town Creek, Alabama, to Hearn and Margaret Lansdell.
She passed away on February 25, 2026, in Jefferson, Texas at the age of 94. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Day; her parents; her brothers, Hugh Lansdell, I.Q. Lansdell, and Hyatt "Hoyt" Lansdell; her sister, Melba Pansy "Pat" Long; and friend, Vernon Barrington.
Left to cherish her memory are several nieces and nephews, one Charlene Wooliver of Knoxville, Tennessee, and the family of Seth and Elizabeth Buckner, Joshua, Jonathan, Hannah, Grace, Lily, and Phillip, of Jefferson, Texas, whom she "unofficially adopted" as her family in the later years of her life.
Nadean was involved in many community groups, including the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Eastern Star. She served in food pantries and worked in many elections as a judge. She loved to crochet and share her creations with others. She had a giving and generous spirit.
Internment is at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at North Shore Baptist Church, Avinger, Texas, with Pastor Dennis Whatley officiating.
