Helin Jenkins Turnipseed's Obituary
Helin Jenkins Turnipseed, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully entered the arms of her Savior, on October 3, 2024, while surrounded by family. Born on May 8, 1939, to Lillie and A.P. Jenkins in Talladega, Alabama. Helin married Rod Turnipseed on April 3, 1960. Together, they welcomed their beloved daughter, Tami. Helin graduated from Briar Cliff University and dedicated over 20 years to teaching 6th grade in Richardson, TX. She found great joy in her profession and held a deep affection for her students and colleagues. Helin lived a life full of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family. She was known for her infectious laughter, generous spirit, and the way she could light up a room with her presence. Helin was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rod. She is survived by her daughter Tami Cullen and her husband James of Rowlett, Tx; Grandson Chris Cullen and his wife Katherine of Fate Tx; Grandson Travis Cullen of Dallas, Tx; Three great-grandchildren Grayson, Carson, and Colton, whom she adored, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends. She also leaves behind a legacy of friendship and memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew her. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home on Greenville Ave in Dallas, TX. Services will be held at Restland Memorial Chapel on Saturday, October 26th at 2:00 PM followed by a graveside service at Restland Cemetery. Her legacy will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
