Helmut (Sonny) Herbold - April 29, 1934 – November 22, 2022
Helmut (Sonny) Herbold, age 88 of Rowlett, TX, passed away November 22, 2022. Sonny was born April 29, 1934, in Seguin, Texas to Hilmar and Agnes Herbold.
Sonny graduated from Seguin High School and entered the Army. After serving our Country, Sonny went to work for several major construction companies, Brown & Root and HB Zachary. After several years in the construction world Sonny became his own boss forming Angroson Inc.
Sonny was a dedicated and devoted individual to his family and church. He was a giving person with a big heart always helping others and receiving blessings in return. Sonny volunteered a lot of his time helping his former church First Family Church in Dallas build a daycare and Christian school. Sonny later became a member of First Baptist Rowlett.
Sonny is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Glynna Monday Herbold of Rowlett, TX, sons Kirby Smith (Sandi) of Rowlett, TX, Kyle Herbold (Greg) of Stockton, CA, Chris Herbold (Misty) of Seguin, TX, daughter Pam Herbold Lee of Seguin, TX; Sister Ruth Smith (Marvin) of Seguin, TX.
Grandchildren: Glynn Smith (Kathleen) of McKinney, TX, Bryan Smith of Rockwall, TX, Stacy Smith Perison (Jeremy) of Rowlett, TX, Nikki Perison of Rowlett, TX, Kimi Morale (Matt) of Rowlett, TX, Callie Harper-Herbold of Stockton, CA, Nadia Harper-Herbold of Stockton, CA, Amy Baccus (Bryan) of Seguin, TX, Robert E Lee (Diana) of Seguin, TX.
Great Grandchildren: William Smith, Kate Smith, Devyn Shea (Caden), Amberly Smith, Jayme Smith, Brice Hardwick, Reid Perison, Jaylyn Perison, Jax Perison, Clark Morale, Kolton Morale.
Great Great Grandchildren: Judah Shea
Sonny is preceded in death by his parents Hilmar and Agnes, and Great Great Grandson Jasper Shea.
Pallbearers: Glynn Smith, Bryan Smith, Jeremy Perison, Matt Morale, William Smith, Caden Shea.
Officiating services will be Brother Steve Leatherwood.
A visitation of family and friends will take place Monday, November 28, 2022 at 9:00am with services to follow at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home 13005 S. Greenville Ave Dallas TX 75243.
