Henry G. Armistead Jr.'s Obituary
ARMISTEAD, HENRY, Henry, Harry, Dad, Grandpa Harry, Gramps, passed away on March 26th, just a few weeks from his 80th birthday. Harry was a proud member of the US Air Force and spent his career as a loyal TI employee. Harry enjoyed the simple things in life: a pretty day, the petting of a dog (especially his beloved Midnight), a good cup of coffee, taking and printing award winning pictures, having breakfast with his retired TI friends, surfing the internet looking for jokes, sitting on the front porch on the “Bench of Knowledge,” getting the big popcorn at the movies because it had one free refill, having a big piece of anything chocolate, and hanging out with his neighbors enjoying a meal. Harry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara; and son, Steve. Harry was loved and cherished by his neighbors who became his family. With his neighbor-family, Harry never missed a school sporting or Cub Scout event; he was the honorary photographer at all functions, and he especially loved the traditions and holidays spent with them all. He had all the special tools to fix whatever might be broken, and he would drive or pick up whenever someone needed to be somewhere. Our Grandpa Harry was the one constant we could depend on. He had a great laugh and jovial nature that was so endearing and so special. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his neighbors, cousins, and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednsday, April 24, 2013 in Restland Wildwood Chapel.
