Henry Gale Smith's Obituary
Henry Gale Smith, 76, entered into rest to meet the Savior he trusted to save him and give him a hope of Heaven when this life was over – on June 7, 2017 he met Jesus face to face. Born in Breckenridge, Tx., he lived most of his life in Odessa, Tx. Mr. Smith served in the United States Marine Corps and was a skilled welder. He worked for several oil companies in West Texas, and at one time owned his own welding business. He loved fishing and hot rod cars, but most of all, he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Harl and Alvia Mae (nee Wampler), brothers, Lloyd and Ronald Smith, and sister, Connie Smith; he is survived by loving children, Henry Gale Smith Jr. (Kari), and Gayla Nelson (Larry); cherished grandchildren, Kemble Witt (Zach), Kaitlyn Smith, Chelsea Nelson, Lauren Johnson (Bradley), Madelyn Nelson, and Seth Nelson. Mr. Smith will be laid to rest at a private ceremony at DFW National Cemetery with full military honors.
