Henry Lee Townsend's Obituary
Was born in Mississippi on Feb. 23,1934, and died May 1, 2011, in Dallas, where he lived for over 50 years. “Sweet Henry” spent much of his time on earth, looking after & loving people who are sometimes forgotten. He watched over the residents of nursing homes and anyone old or lonely, taking care to make each & every one of them feel important & valued, but most of all…loved. Those who love him, will count the days they knew him as blessed; and will miss him every single day until they meet again. He is survived by his best friends: Joe Morris, Grace & Leon Vogelzang, Jim Williams, Jerry Cummings, Margie & Warren DeShay, Myrtle Bradshaw-“the patient”& Dianna Chambers. Henry loved his church, Pilgrim Rest Baptist & was an active member. He was church photographer, homecoming coordinator & a member of the Male & Gospel Choruses & Senior Choir. And now, Henry will finally get to join his family in heaven. Henry’s service will be at 10am on Saturday, May 7 in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland. “Goodnight sweet prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
