Herbert Carlton Crowe's Obituary
Herbert Crowe passed away on September 19, 2018 at Adora Midtown Assisted Living. He was born on October 24, 1923 in Jasonville, IN and served in the US Army Air Corps 10th Weather Squadron in China and India during World War II.Following the war, Herbert moved to Southern California and worked for Lockheed and AirResearch. In California, he met Lorraine Bitz and they were married in 1952. They were married for 61 years until Lorraine’s death in 2013. They lived in Montana, Minnesota, Ohio, and Dallas, TX.Herbert received a Masters of Public Health from the University of Minnesota in 1962 and worked as a Physical Scientist in what later became the Environmental Protection Agency in Cincinnati, Ohio, and later in Dallas, Texas, teaching courses to state and local officials inside his multistate region. He retired in 1982 and was active in several senior groups, including the Greater Lakewood Shepherd Center. Herbert was a Mason. He loved aviation, target shooting, and baseball. He was an avid reader.Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Helen Johnson Crow; his wife, Lorraine Bitz Crowe; and his son-in-law, Don Armstrong. His children, Yvonne Armstrong and Jeff Crowe, and several nieces and nephews survive him.Herbert’s memorial service will be Tuesday, September 25 at 12:30 pm at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville, Ave, Dallas, TX.Funeral Arrangements for Herbert Carlton Crowe have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 13005 Greenville Ave., at the intersection of Restland Rd., Dallas, Texas, 75243.
