Herbert Thomas Muttera, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. He was born in Houston, Texas to Herbert Thomas Sudwischner and Virginia Brown on Monday, July 3, 1961, in Houston, Texas. He was affectionately called Tom by family and moved to California in his early twenties with a group of friends from Texas to find jobs in northern California. He became a forest fire fighter in Mammoth Lake, Sacramento, CA for 20 years. He loved snow and water skiing during his fire fighting off seasons and was a true outdoorsman in both hot and cold weather. During his high school years, he was a member of the swim team and was a real ladies' man. Tom never married nor had children but enjoyed helping his mother around the house and yard. They both took pleasure in each other's company eating out in Dallas. His favorite was Mexican food. Tom leaves his loved ones with unforgettable memories and loving stories. He will be sincerely missed by his loving family, devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.
