Herman “Smokey” A. Stover, age 81, died August 15, 2019 at his home in Garland, TX. He is preceded in death by two wives, Dorothy Jean Stover and Mercedes G. Stover, also by his parents Jim and Mae Stover and three sisters, Florene Ball, Maxine Bradshaw, and Imogene Cotton, and one step-daughter Joy Bryant.He is survived by his brother Francis Stover of Texarkana, TX, one step-daughter Josephina Isaacs and her husband David, four step- grandchildren, Joanna Garner and husband Matt, Amy Winston and husband Mike, Cassie Hay and her husband Rob, and Zeke Isaacs. He also has two step great-grandchildren, and several nieces. He will be missed by many other relatives and friends.He was a Navy veteran. He retired from Western Union and the Garland Independent School District. At this time, a funeral service for Herman Alvin Stover will be held at the Wildwood Chapel in Restland Memorial Park on September 5, 2019 at 3pm.
