Herman Lee Hosey's Obituary
Herman Lee Hosey, 99, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2020. He was born on November 15, 1920 in Mineral Springs, AR. He was preceded in death by wife Verna Louise Williams Hosey and son Charles Lee Hosey. He is survived by daughter-in-law Janice Brown Hosey and 2 grandsons Mike(wife Cande) Hosey, Mark Hosey, 4 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. In 1937 at the age of 16 years old he began serving in the U. S. Army with the Second Division at Fort Sam Houston, TX and later with the 7th Division during W.W. II. At the battle of Attu he was awarded The Purple Heart and Bronze Star along with other medals. He retired with 22 years from the Army in 1959 with rank of Master Sgt. Infantry. After serving his country he went to work with Dallas School District and taught ROTC and retired after 20 years. Herman was a Master Mason for 60 years Lodge 705 Oak Cliff.
Visitation for Herman Hosey will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. A Graveside service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in Restland Cemetery located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Living Proof choir First Baptist Church at the Fields, located at 1401 Carrollton PkWy., Carrollton, Texas 75010.
