Herta Jackson's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Herta Jackson
Herta Jackson, age 97, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away peacefully with
family at her home on December 31, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of
love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Born in Nurnberg, Germany, on April 20, 1928, Herta grew up during the
hardships of World War II. She attended a technical school in Nurnberg,
where she completed a Draftsman program in just one year due to the
war’s accelerated requirements for the traditionally three-year course.
In 1950, Herta and her family immigrated to the United States and
settled in Dallas, Texas. She worked for the U.S. Air Force for twelve
years before joining Texas Instruments to expand her expertise in
government contracts. Her skill as a draftsman earned her recognition,
including an award for a drawing she completed at an airbase in
California.
Herta was a generous, loving, and a selfless Christian who always put
others before herself. Her kindness touched countless lives. Herta was a
faithful member of the Walnut Hill Church of Christ since December,
2006. She spent much of her free time with family and friends and
pursuing her hobbies. She was a gifted storyteller who kept history alive
for her family and friends, sharing vivid accounts of her youth in
Germany and the historical shifts she witnessed firsthand.
In her later years, Herta faced health challenges, but her daughter’s
devoted care allowed her to remain comfortably at home. She is
survived by her daughter Karen and fiancé Richard; her grandchildren
Sarah and husband Taylor and great-grandchildren Noah and Lily;
Michael and wife Bryanna, who will all forever carry her love in their
hearts. Herta was preceded in death by her parents’ father Johann
Dengler and mother Kunigunde Dengler; her husband, Homer Jackson;
her twin sister, Ruth Womack and brother-in-law Robert Womack.
