A Rosary for Hipolito “Polo” Jimenez, a longtime resident of Harlingen, who died Sunday at his residence in Houston, was recited at 6:30 P.M. Wednesday at Restland Funeral Home Chapel in Dallas with the Rev. Fernandez, pastor of St. Paul the Apostolic Church, officiating.Graveside services were held at Restland Memorial ParkPolo had been manager at the Valley Transit/Grayhound bus station in Harlingen for many years. He was a member of the San Felipe Catholic Church in Harlingen and was one of the founders of the Cavalleros de Cristo Rey Society at St. Joseph’s Church in Donna.He was preceded in death by his parents Julia Tristan Jimenez and Timoteo Jimenez, Sr.Survivors include, wife Elia Candida Siefuentes Jimenez; five sons, Richard Jimenez, Victor Jimenez, and David Jimenez all of Dallas, Hipolito Jr. Jimenez of Austin and Roland Jimenez of Houston, four daughters, Dr. Irma Cockerill of Ponte Verde Beach, Fla., Irene De La Garza of Houston, Elia Christina Jimenez and Beverly Ann Jimenez both of Austin; three sisters all of Donna; three brothers of Donna and a brother of McAllen; and eight grandchildren.Memorial may be made in Mr. Jimenez’s name to the American Heart Association.
