Hobart Vestel Johnson's Obituary
Hobart Johnson passed away on November 3, 2010 in Dallas, TX at the age of 102. Hobart was born Aug. 13, 1908 in Blue Ridge, Texas to Audie Lee Johnson and Mary Kerley Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Jane C. Johnson, as well as siblings Bill Johnson, Laura Elaine O’Brien, and Ruby Kyger. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Johnson Puckett, his grandson Andrew James Puckett, three nieces, and many loyal friends. “Hobo” grew up in Colin County and attended Southern Methodist University. He Worked for Lone Star Company for over 30 years and held the position of Company Secretary. After retirement he got his pilot’s license, sold commercial real estate, and raised cattle on his ranch at Wills Point, TX. He was a Charter Member of Royal Oaks Country Club, where the staff and his 19th hole golf buddies were his second family. Hobo’s daughter extends her grateful appreciation to Tommie Hatfield and Angeline Martinez at TLC Residential Care and to his loving caregivers there: Bertha, Connie, Sylvia and Norma. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 6 at lOam at Restland Memorial Park, Reverend Don M. Henderson officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Al Hopkins, Walter Cain, Randy Smith, George Till, Donny Anderson, Jake Benner, Frank Interrante, Dan Inman, and Miriam Kindred. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
