Homer Hopson Glascock, III's Obituary
Homer Hopson Glascock, III of Dallas, Texas, passed away on August 24, 2021. He was born in Columbia, Missouri on September 6, 1959, and raised in Schenectady, New York and then Scotia / East Glenville, New York.
During his youth, Homer achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, and climbed many of the Adirondack Mountains’ high peaks, located in upstate New York. During his college years, he earned an Associate degree at Mohawk Valley Community College studying Electrical Technology, before continuing his studies at the State University of New York, at Buffalo and then the University of Missouri, at Columbia, where Homer earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Following college, Homer obtained his professional engineering license and moved to Dallas, Texas, where he began his lifelong career with Texas Utilities and subsequently ONCOR in power distribution and management.
Homer lived a life of service to God, utilizing his extraordinary intelligence, talents, and skills, frequently going out of his way to help his family, friends, and church family when there was a need for complicated repairs. He was blessed by God with the ability to fix nearly anything electrical.
Devoted to his son and to his extended family, Homer particularly loved traveling and vacationing with them. For several years, he also enjoyed acting in the internationally acclaimed passion play, "The Thorn", where he played a disciple of Jesus.
Preceded in death by his mother, Nancy L. Senior Glascock, Homer is survived by his son Homer Hopson Glascock, IV, his father Homer H. Glascock, II, Ph.D., his brothers Colin F. Glascock, M.D. and Thomas D. Glascock, Esq., and many cousins, nieces, nephews, colleagues, and friends.
