He preached at my school in Metairie, LA when I was a teenager and I listened to every single word. God called me to salvation at the end of the week. My life was changed forever. What a blessing I will never forget. Praise Jesus for using Homer to lead me to be saved!!!
Just hearing this news. Homer Martinez was responsible for the saving of my entire immediate family. I can not express enough gratitude for that. He was an amazing man.
I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the Martinez family. Brother Homer was an amazing preacher and follower of Christ. I have many memories of he and his lovely wife Emily. One memory that means the most to me is one revival he did was at a church my father was pastoring at the time and my husband was saved during that revial. my husband and I are no longer married but he holds a special place in his heart for Brother Homer,I do know that. I loved going to "meetings" as my father called them. I always loved hearing Brother Homer preach and his brother Dr. Angel Martinez. My father,Pete Nunez loved them both very much and will miss Brother Homer deeply. My heart and prayers go out to Mrs.Emily and the rest of the family. We will all miss him,although we know when we get to Heaven,what a Glorious day that will be to have two amazing evangelists there waiting for us! God Bless you and your family. When I was a pre-teen and teenager, Homer Martinez and his his brother, Angel, preached revivals at my church in Lubbock, Texas. I always make sure I had a front row seat when Home preached. Laced with humor, his message always resonated with me. I am 76 years old now and often recall these moments. Rest in Peace, Rev Martinez! I hope you knew how much of an impact you had on this 'young' lady!
Praise God for the life of Homer Martinez! God raised up a man that served & honored Him all of his days. When Jesus called Homer as a young boy to "follow Me", Homer obeyed by "taking up his cross & following Jesus" all of his earthly days. And now has left a life of blessing, example, faithful witness, & love to a multitude. What a legacy & testimony of Jesus Christ remains & lives on! Bless you, family. We send you our love & prayers.

Bro. Homer was a true man of God. I remember his patience, as he allowed me to mow his yard as a young person. But he didn’t forget me. 40 years later, he conducted services in our small Mississippi church. God bless you, family. Til we meet again.
