Howard Thomas Golden's Obituary
was born November 13, 1913 on a farm outside Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. His family came to Chicago when Pete was 10 and he lived in the Chicago area for 66 years. Pete was the son of Israel and Gussie Golden. He is survived by his wife, Toni, and his son, Paul, and daughter in law, Ann, all of Plano, TX; he’s also survived by his brothers Alex and Abraham, and sisters, Florence and Tillie, all of Chicago, IL. Pete had 3 grandchildren who were the great joy of his life and many nieces and nephews. Pete always believed in working for himself. He owned and operated a hardware store in Chicago for over 30 years. He also operated a painting and decorating business that he maintained after selling his interest in the hardware business. Pete loved the simple things in life. He was an avid sports enthusiast, playing baseball early in life and playing golf for most of his life. His enjoyment of watching sports on television was surpassed only by weekend dinners at his son and daughter-in-law’s home. One of his proudest moments was hitting a hole-in-one while playing golf with his wife and son. Pete will be remembered for his wit and his never ending positive outlook on life. Services for Pete will be held 10:00AM Wednesday, October 31st at Restland Abbey Chapel in Dallas
