Howard Frick Thomas' Obituary
Mr. Howard Frick Thomas, 94, of Sachse, TX, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020, in Sachse, TX. He was born on August 23, 1926, in Granite Quarry, NC, to the late Junius Daniel Thomas and Callie Mae Frick Thomas. His grandparents were Albert Daniel Thomas and Eveann Miller, and Calvin Levi Frick and Chrissy Ann Cauble. He was a member of Christiana Lutheran Church in Salisbury, NC, and graduated from Granite Quarry High School. He served in the US Army in WWII in Germany, as a sergeant, surveyor and cannoneer in the Anti-Tank Company. He later moved to Charlotte, NC, married, and was employed by J.A. Baker Cotton Company, traveling through the southern states and Tennessee buying, classing, and selling cotton. After moving to Charlotte, Mr. Thomas became a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
He and his family moved to Texas in 1978 where he was employed by Toyo Cotton Company in Dallas until his retirement. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Plano, TX.
Preceding him in death were his wife Ruby Catherine Pepper, on May 1, 2011, daughter Baby Thomas, brothers Carl H. Thomas, Ralph D. Thomas, and Larry W. Thomas, and sisters Anne Brown and Helen Cowan.
Surviving him are his daughters Deborah Thomas Hough and her husband Mike Hough of Nevada, Texas, daughter Patricia Thomas Pena of Plano, Texas, grandson Michael Brandon Hough and his wife Ashley of Nevada, Texas, granddaughter Kaitlin Christiana Pena of Plano, Texas, three great grandchildren Edison, Alexander, and Harrison Hough of Nevada, Texas, and sisters June Owen of Corpus Christi, TX, Betty Rose Witty, Joyce Trexler, and Kay Abernathy of Salisbury, NC.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
