Hsiao Chen "Tammy" Lee's Obituary
Hsiao Chen “Tammy” Lee passed away peacefully in the presence of her husband and children on January 30, 2023 at Fountain View Continuing Care in Dallas, Tx.
She was born on June 4, 1956 in Taipei, Taiwan and attended Ming Chuan University where she studied Business Secretarial Arts. She graduated from University in 1978. On April 28, 1982 she married Pen Jean Lee before moving to the United States in August that same year. Once in the United States, she took accounting classes at the University of North Texas and began working on obtaining her U.S. citizenship, which she obtained in 1991. To this union were born Edward and Tiffany Lee. Hsiao Chen worked for 37 years at the jewelry company, Prime Art and Jewel (P.A.J.) before retiring as the Director of Purchasing in 2020. She was a committed member of the team at P.A.J and made many lasting friendships. She loved reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Her perfect day consisted of trying new places to dine with family, recreating new dishes she enjoyed, and curling up with a good book at bedtime. Her favorite places ever visited were Banff in Canada, Florence in Italy, and Oahu in Hawaii. Hsiao Chen was a strong willed and intelligent woman who believed that anything could be achieved through hard work and dedication. She always believed that happiness was a choice and constantly chose to look on the bright side of things. This was evident after her difficult diagnoses with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in December of 2017. She never complained about the disease, and fought for as long as she could to spend more time with those she loved. She was a selfless wife, mother, sister, and friend, who will be very dearly missed. Hsiao Chen is survived by her husband Pen Jean Lee, son Edward and daughter-in-law Katie Lee, grandchildren Addison, Austin, and Ainsley Lee, daughter Tiffany Lee and Fiancé Joshua Sanders, Mother Chih-Ho Tang and Father Ming-Young Chang, sister Mimi Chang and brother-in- law Delung Lin, brother Bill Chang and sister-in-law Melinda Yeh.
