Mr Hubert Doyle Jenkins' Obituary
JENKINS, HUBERT DOYLE, was born on April 18, 1914 in Culleoka, Texas east of McKinney, to parents Arthur N. Jenkins and Maggie Striplin Jenkins. He passed away March 2, 2008 just seven weeks shy of his 94th birthday. Doyle graduated from McKinney High School in 1932. Doyle and his wife Oleta celebrated their 72nd anniversary on February 16th. They moved from Collin County to Grand Prairie in 1949 and then returned to McKinney in July of 2006. He is survived by his wife, Oleta Corry Jenkins; 3 children, Ben D. Jenkins of Charlotte, NC, William ‘Bill’ Jenkins of Round Rock, TX, and Tom Corry of Rockport, TX; 6 grandchildren, Laura Want, Laird Jenkins, Holly Jenkins, Brent Jenkins, and Traci Jenkins (who is expecting her first born any day); and 8 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Todd, Corby and Chloe Want; Holt and Hannah Jenkins; and Carissa and Christian Ercegovich. In 1976, Doyle retired from LTV in Grand Prairie after 25 years. He enjoyed fishing and watching his great-grandchildren grow up. Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Restland Abbey Chapel, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
