Hubert Hines Myers' Obituary
MYERS, HUBERT HINES of Dallas passed away on Feb. 2, 2014 at Baylor Plano Hospital. “Hugh” was born on April 11, 1931 in Danville, Illinois. He graduated cum laude with a degree in economics from Depauw University, Greencastle, Indiana where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. After graduating, Hugh joined the United States Army Finance Corps, Fort Lewis, Washington, where he obtained the rank of Corporal. Following his honorable discharge from the Army in 1955, he began his career with State Farm Insurance Companies as a service supervisor in various regional offices across the United States. Hugh moved to Dallas in 1964 where he worked for over 30 years as a manufacturing supervisor in the Integrated Circuits Department of Texas Instruments before retiring in 1995. Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Opal Myers and nephew, Alan Kemna. He is survived by his wife, Linda Myers; three sons, Scott Myers (Leslie), Craig Myers (Kallie) of Dallas, TX and Grant Myers (Sarah) of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Austin, Mackenzie and Samuel Myers, Kate, Will, and Ava Myers and Ryan and Ally Myers. He is also survived by step-children, Greg Blanton and Claudia Arnette (Adam) and step-granddaughters, Alexandra & Caroline Arnette of Dallas. Also surviving are his sister, Sharon Kemna (Don); nephew, Stephen (Kim) and great-nephew, Josh of Las Vegas, NV. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Cemetary. Private graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM on February 6, 2014 at DFW National Cemetery in Arlington, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Ataxia Foundation, 2600 Fernbrook Lane, Suite 119, Minneapolis, MN 55447-4752.
