Huey Minh Nguyen's Obituary
Huey Minh Nguyen, 68, of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2024.
Son of Lien and Tam Nguyen, he was born on April 20, 1955 in Da Nang, Vietnam. In 1975, he came to the United States. He worked at various places, but ended his career as a supervisor at Irving Tools, Inc. for 31 years. He retired in 2021.
He met his wife, Hanh, in Dallas in 1977 and they got married on July 23, 1983 at St. Pius Catholic Church. They traveled more in their early years, including multiple trips home to Vietnam, but his favorite vacation destination was Las Vegas, Nevada. He had few hobbies, but thoroughly enjoyed watching sports, especially football and basketball. He enjoyed fishing with his friends, and took his only daughter, Mary, along on many fishing trips when she was young.
He was preceded to heaven by his parents and two older brothers, Khoa and Hiep. He is survived by his wife, Hanh, daughter, Mary and husband Nam, grandson, Everett, sisters Hue and Hue (different accent marks), and baby brother, Huan.
While we lost our beloved dad and husband, many lost a brother and friend. He was kind, generous, and always had a smile.
Visitation will be at Restland funeral home on Friday, March 15 from 10 AM until 7 PM. The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10 AM at Mother of Perpetual Help Parish. His cremation is to follow at Restland.
