Hugh Morrow Baxter's Obituary
Baxter, Hugh Morrow age 86, of Richardson, Texas passed away on July 7, 2021 after a brief battle with COVID-19. Hugh was born on May 31, 1935 in Henderson, Texas to Rade Morrow Baxter and Mary Elizabeth Oberthier Baxter. Hugh enjoyed a wonderful childhood in Henderson filled with many good friends and family, and he graduated from Henderson High School in 1953. He graduated from Baylor University in 1957 and began his career with the Army Audit Agency in Dallas. Throughout his career, Hugh worked for Collins Radio, Centennial Homes, and concluded his career as an officer with the Vantage Companies and Charter Builders.
On November 9, 1963, Hugh married Nancy Lee Hutson of Haynesville, Louisiana. They raised their two children, Betsy and Rade, in Richardson, Texas. Hugh was a member of First Baptist Church of Richardson. Hugh is preceded in death by Nancy, who passed away in 2013. Hugh is survived by his daughter, Betsy Baxter of Richardson, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Rade Morrow Baxter II and Connie Loganbill Baxter of Allen, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Hugh was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 11, 4:00-6:00pm at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 12 at 2:30pm at Restland Funeral Home. Charitable donations may be made in Hugh's name to American Cancer Society.
