Humphrey Wallace “Wally” Shipley 1926 – 2012 ` Wally Shipley, 85, of Garland, Texas was called home to his Lord and Savior on July 12, 2012. Wally was a long time member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church, where he served as past treasurer and Deacon ordained in 1954. He retired at age 63 after serving as the business agent for Plaster’s Local 61 for 23 years. Wally served our country as a member of the Army during W.W.II. He spent his tour in the Pacific. After the war ended, Wally returned to Dallas, Texas where he spent many years. Wally prided himself as a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, serving as a Master Mason. He was one of the founders of the Dallas Muzzle Loading Gun Club. Wally spent many hours building and restoring flintlock and percussion rifles. He enjoyed driving and working on his Model T’s and was a member of the Model T Ford Club for over 35 years. Wally and his wife, Faye attended more than 20 tours with the Dallas Model T Ford Club. In the 1960s, he enjoyed participating in reenactments of Civil War Battles. Wally will forever be remembered by his loving wife of 64 years, Faye Shipley; his beloved son, Larry Shipley and wife, Denise; beloved daughter, Sheila Landua and husband, Mark. He is also survived by grandchildren: Kyle Landua, Blake Landua, Brad George, David George, and April Shipley; great grandchildren: Kammie Shipley and Haley Shipley; aunt, Myrtice Creekmore; sisters-in-law: Billie Bobele and Jo Shipley; nieces and nephew: Sue Perry, Cathy Brooks, Jackie Townsend and Jerry Shipley. Wally also considered Nolan Renfro and wife, Pam as an extended son and daughter. Preceded in death by his parents: Humphrey and Gladys Shipley; brother, Jack Shipley; and grandson, Jason Shipley. He is fondly remembered by countless other friends and family who were blessed to know him.
