Ida Jo Campbell's Obituary
Ida Jo Campbell, 71, of Dallas, Texas, passed away in her home on January 27, 2017. She had been courageously battling congestive heart failure. Ida was born on August 3rd, 1945 in Akron, Ohio to Angeline and Forrest Don Moore. Ida attended school in Akron and graduated from South Side High School (where she was a Majorette) in 1963. Shortly after graduation she and her family moved to Dallas, Texas where she met the love of her life, Edward Campbell. The two lovebirds married and began a journey that would last fifty years. The greatest joy of Ida’s life was the birth of her two children Edward Paul and Lisa Angeline. Ida took great pride in caring for her family and lived to bring joy and comfort to her loved ones. She was passionate about service to others and worked for many years on KRLD Radio’s Christmas Is For Kids program as well as working many years as a volunteer at Medical City in Dallas. Ida was preceded in death by her parents Angeline and Forrest Moore, her sisters Janie and Imagene, and her brother Donny Moore. Ida is survived by her husband of fifty years Edward James Campbell, her children Edward Paul Campbell and Lisa Campbell McCorkle, her brother Ronnie Moore, her sisters in law Patricia Campbell and Mary Carretta, her son in law Kevin McCorkle, her niece Anna Moore and her most precious grandchildren Austin, Palmer, Griffin, Georgia and Jake. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, February 1st, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Memorial Chapel located at Restland Memorial Park with a reception to follow at the LM Room in the main funeral home. Ida was a faithful servant of God, loving mother, devoted wife, dearly loved grandmother “Mimi”, and friend to all. She will be dearly missed.
