So sorry to hear of your loss. When I think of Girl Scouts, Ida is the first person who comes to mind. Her dedication was unmatched. Patti Clapp
We worked together side by side at Lil lambs sale. She was confident in all she did and I learned to love her for that because she did it so naturally. I will miss seeing her in that cute pink lamb shirt… let go let god! Kellie maynard 💖
Ida was Janis (Bray) Hoffmann's roommate in ZTA Sorority at Northwestern. The Hassler family have been our very dearest friends all these years. Jan remembers that Ida would insist on "Lights Out" in the room when she was done studying….that Jan then had to go elsewhere to finish her work for the day. We had the most delightful canoe trip with both families in the Ely, MN area. The visits to Richardson and the Hassler visits to both Grand Forks and Green River over the years have been our treasure. As for Mark, Ida was Mark's Physics lab partner at Northwestern. His recollection is the incredible intellect she had when we did our lab work. We honor our lifetime of love and friendship with Ida and the whole Hassler family.

Ida was such a friend and mentor. I had the privilege of working with her in Girl Scouts in a wide variety of roles over way too many (but not enough) years. Our service unit had a big project every year where older girls taught camping skills to younger girls. It was a leadership growth opportunity for the older girls. Girls applied for positions but I needed some to be flexible. Instead of asking them after the fact to switch positions, I let those that wanted to state up front that they were willing to be flexible. I wanted it to be a "position" and was inspired to call it the IDA position for "I'll Do Anything." Every year I told them about the amazing Ida Hassler who inspired the name and the role because she was an "I'll Do Anything" to help others grow and learn kinda leader. I miss her terribly but she will always live on in my heart.
Ida was one of the smartest women I have ever met. She was a friend, funny, full of life and mischief. I loved our two bunnies and a turtle gatherings. Seems there weren't near as many problems in the world after we all got together for laughs, wine, and lots of sharing. She was one of a kind and the world has lost a fabulous woman.
