Ida LaFern, affectionately known as “Granny Fern” by her loved ones, passed away suddenly on November 9th, 2018. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Friend.A visitation service will be held from 6pm-8pm, on Monday, November 19th, at the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Prairie, 310 SW 3rd St., Grand Prairie, TX.A funeral service in memory of her will be held on, Tuesday, November 20th, at 11 am, at the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Prairie, 310 SW 3rd St., Grand Prairie, TX., with Rev.James Reinarz. Interment will follow at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S. Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX.She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her son, James and his wife Julie Moore; her four grandchildren, James (wife Elana), Katelyn, Cameron, and Jason; her four great-grandchildren, Aimee, James, Levi, and Savannah; and her brother Chris Blaylock.She is predeceased by her father and mother, G.W. and Maudie Blaylock, and her brother Dewayne Blaylock.Granny Fern loved taking care of her family and spending as much time as she could with them. She was recently retired from Interstate Hotel and Resorts. One of her favorite pass times was working in her yard. She was a devote Christian and spent every Sunday with her church.She will be greatly missed.
