Idalia Graciela Sanchez, 89, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020, at her home in Dallas.
Idalia Graciela Sanchez was born on November 11, 1930, in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Esteban and Maria Alvarez. She attended school in Laredo, Texas, and graduated from Holding Institute. She then attended college at Mary Hardin Baylor and graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology.
In 1952, she married Saul Sanchez, her now ex-husband, and they had six children. They lived in El Paso and Laredo before settling in Dallas, Texas, in 1975. Throughout her career, Idalia Graciela Sanchez enjoyed working as a medical technologist for various doctors’ offices, hospitals, and health organizations including St. Paul Medical Center Hospital in Dallas and Dallas Nephrology Associates. She finally reluctantly retired in 1997 to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Idalia is predeceased by her oldest son, Saul Sanchez Jr. She is survived by her remaining children, Sergio Sanchez Sr., Yvette (Morris) Prigoff, Suzanna (Jeff) Etessam, Samuel Sanchez, Servando Sanchez; her grandchildren, Selena Nicole Salinas, Saul (Erica) Sanchez III, Sergio (Miranda) Sanchez Jr, Sheri Newman, Sonny (Mendy) Sanchez, Chase Garrett, Maya (Paul) Perez Gainey, Tony Perez; her great-grandchildren, Saul Sanchez IV, Sloan Sanchez, Sergio Sanchez III, Landon Sanchez, CJ Stromme, Sadie Sanchez, Anakate Newman, Ashlyn Newman, Alayna Newman, and her cherished cat, Missy, who also deeply mourns her passing.
Idalia Graciela Sanchez was known as the matriarch of the family. She was the glue that held us together, and she will be dearly missed. Our family gatherings won’t be the same without her. Live Stream @ http://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/32121
