Ila Faye Carr's Obituary
Funeral services for Ila Faye Poovey Carr·, 80, of Lavon, Texas will be held on Monday November 26, 2018 at 2:30 pm at Restland Memorial Chapel in Dallas, Texas. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday November 25, 2018 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.Mrs. Carr entered her eternal life November 19th after a sudden and brief illness. She was born June 28, 1938 to the late William H. and Lillian Mae Poovey in Dallas, Texas. She retired from Texas Instruments after a thirty plus year career. A graduate of Garland High School, she loved being a part of the Dashing Debs Drill Team and still stayed in contact with many of her friends from her high school days. She loved spending time with her 3 children and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Faye was an avid reader and was very talented at cross stitching. She was a faithful member of First Assembly of God of Lavon for many years. Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Glen Carr and by 8 siblings of the Poovey clan, a very loving and close knit family; Brothers Bid, Bob, Joe and Jim Poovey; Sisters Marie Brown, Louise Pierce, Ann Roan and twin Lila White; parents William and Lillian Poovey and granddaughter Tarah Powell Phillips. She is survived by her children; Clay and Mary Carr, Mike and Renay Powell, and Randy and DeeAnn Carr; Grandchildren, Tiffany Burns, Kari McDonald, Stephanie Hohweiler, Tyler Powell, Ashley Nix, Michael Kelly, Austin Carr and Caitlyn Carr. Eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
