Imogene Laverne Watson's Obituary
She was born on June 12, 1924, to William Samuel Cummings and Laura Lenox Cummings in Byers, Texas. She married Claude Vaughn (Tom) Watson on December 24, 1949, in Dallas, Texas. She was a wife a mother and a homemaker for sixty-seven years. Prior to her marriage, she worked for Prudential Insurance Company in Dallas, Texas after graduating from Texas Tech in 1946. She and her husband were members of White Rock United Methodist Church for over fifty years. She is survived by her sons, Lawrence Watson of Dallas, Texas and Todd and his wife Cheryl of Mesquite, Texas. She is survived by two grandchildren: Matthew and his wife Paige, and Brian and his wife Kira; Great-grandchildren: Hunter, Arabelle, and Ryker and by a host of many nephews and nieces, their spouses and children making up an extended family of over 100 people. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years. She was also preceded in death by all of her siblings: Arra Rogers, Vera Powers, Mary Esther Stewart, Una Faye Ballentine, Estelle Graham, Kermit Clyde Cummings, Clifton Cummings, Bonner Cummings, and Raymond (Bud) Cummings along with their respective husbands and wives. Imogene played intramural tennis while at Texas Tech and was later an avid bowler for many years (continuing to bowl into her early eighties). Service for Imogene will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at White Rock United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park in The court of Good Shepherd. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
