Ira E. Borchardt's Obituary
Ira Eugene Borchardt, born October 6, 1939, in Mesquite, TX to Floyd Alin Borchardt and Mary Cornelia Randerson, passed away on July 8, 2024. He was married to Sherry Maxwell Husted on August 4, 2004, in Dallas, Texas.
Ira was a talented self-taught master artist, knife and rifle stock carver and maker. He enjoyed bass fishing with friends and attending John Arnold/Red Webster life groups at Lakepointe Church at the Rockwall and Mesquite campuses. He thoroughly enjoyed Facetime with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a great love for his family, his country and his LORD.
Proceeded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mary Randerson Borchardt, brother Bobbie Borchardt, sister Billie (Borchardt) Metcalf, sister Marifloyd (Borchardt) Berry and other precious family members.
Survived by his wife of 20 years Sherry (Maxwell) Borchardt of the home. Sons Ira Jr of Garland, TX, Randy of Illinois, Rick and wife Gina of Rockwall, Dwayne Borchardt, nieces M. Kay (Metcalf) Chamberlain and family, Linda Gail (Berry) Martin and family Donna Sue (Berry) Martin and family, as well as many in his extended family.
A private family burial is planned for a later date.
