Irene Conde Garcia-Varker's Obituary
Irene Conde Garcia-Varker, 53, of Dallas, Texas was born on August 20, 1968 in Taylor, Texas. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Irene was a Dallas ISD Graduate, where she attended Lakewood Elementary School, W.H Gaston Middle School, and North Dallas High School class of 1986. Soon after graduating, Irene attended Eastfield College. From 1987-1994 she worked as a Preschool Teacher at Lakewood United Methodist Church Learning Center. In 1995, she began working for Dallas ISD at Walnut Hill Elementary School. She was assigned to work with resource and bilingual students. Irene then spent 13 years working with Dyslexia students. Irene was a part of the National Blue Ribbon School 1997-1998. In 2001, she was Certified as a Paraprofessional at the Paraprofessional Institute No Child Left Behind. Irene received numerous accolades for the positive impact she made in her students’ lives. She was one of the finalists for Dallas ISD Teacher Assistant of the year 2005-2006. For 17 years she was the Career Day Coordinator, inviting Family and Community members to help students be College and Career Ready. Irene was also Walnut Hill's CRC and the Safety Coordinator. Irene was a talented artist and often her murals were displayed along the halls of Walnut Hill Elementary. She was dedicated to her students and cherished the memories made during her time at WHE. Irene was also devoted to her family and friends. Her smile and laugh would light up the room. All who knew her, loved her, and her presence will be sorely missed. Irene is preceded in death by her brother, Frank R. Garcia III. She is survived by her spouse, Brian A. Varker and his daughter Sarah C. Varker; brother-in-law, Brandon S. Varker and wife, Maria E. Varker; her parents, Frank Rivera Garcia Jr. and Refugia Conde Garcia; brother, Arthur and wife, Brenda Garcia; sisters, Mary Sue and husband, Jose Guerra, Frances and husband, Juventino Perez Jr., Della Gallegos, and Margie Garcia; numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church; 6306 Kenwood Ave, Dallas, TX 75214. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Assist the Officer Foundation (Dallas Police Department), Locks of Love, and in honor of Irene Garcia, Walnut Hill Elementary School; 2151 Royal Lane, Dallas, TX 75229
