Irene Bauer Giles' Obituary
GILES, IRENE Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother Irene Giles peacefully passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008. Irene was born July 28, 1929 in Boise, Idaho to David and Suzanna Bauer. She was the fourth of eight children. Her husband Louis F. (Jerry) Giles and son Michael Ray Giles preceded her in death and she is survived by her daughter Jerri Lynn Giles Carroll and husband Bill Carroll. Irene loved to dance and met Jerry on the dance floor in Lamar, Colorado sixty one years ago. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on Christmas Eve 2005. She was a working mother who gave most of her time to her family and the rest to Southwestern Bell for 14 years. Jerry’s change of jobs took them to Las Vegas, Lafayette, Houston and Denver where she enjoyed her position as bank teller in several of those cities. Retirement brought them back to Dallas and their family. Other survivors include granddaughters, Michelle Giles and Dan Herman, Jennifer Giles, Katy Carroll Bondies and husband John Bondies, grandsons Wade Carroll and wife Venicia, and Will Carroll and wife Christina. Great grandchildren include Luke Bondies, Delaney and Baylee Carroll and Victoria Carroll.
