Iris Lucille Vinther's Obituary
VINTHER, IRIS LUCILLE ELLIS Born May 27, 1917 on a farm in the Oklahoma panhandle, Iris grew up in the middle of the Dust Bowl. After she married Lawrence, she followed his airline career to Kansas and Texas, raising a family and teaching Bible classes. They loved to travel, both as a sightseers and as Sojourners. Iris had a lively interest in people, from friends at Walnut Hill Church of Christ, Dallas Christian School, AARP, and the Forum, to her three great-grandchildren. They survive her, as do her sister and family Gene and Jeanie Kile; daughter and her family Sue and Owen Dillard, West and Caren Dillard, Clay Dillard, and Amy Dillard; and son and his family Larry and Judy Vinther, Kevin and Laura Vinther, Bret and Stacie May, and Chris and Victoria Cheney. Lawrence died in 1991 after 53 good years of marriage; she rejoined him on May 19, 2008. Her mind never failed her, but as her health failed, she was blessed by the care of Ronna East at Chantilly Place. Visitation will be from 6:00 ‘ 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service
