Ann, long admired professionally for her skill and compassion, soon joined the nursing staff at Baylor Hospital and, later, Presbyterian Hospital. She began her 23-year tenure with Southern Methodist University in 1972, working in the campus hospital and clinic. A devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Ann retired from SMU in 1995 to care for her grandchildren. Her husband, parents, and brother, Sylven Ducote, preceded her in death.
