I grew up living next door to the Pina Family in "el barrio" of Dallas and I am so sad to hear of the passing of Irma Pina Mack. Although Irma was older than me and my siblings I remember her as being a very protective and caring big sister to her baby brother Gary Pina, Irma and Edna always took an interest in making sure that their little brother Gary was safe and not wandering too far from their home. I remember that in the summertime when Gary's front porch light would go off and on it meant Gary had to go inside for the night. We would all yell at Gary that the porch light was flickering on and off and we didn't want him to go inside because we were usually having fun playing outside. I remember we use to like to catch fireflies and collect them in jars and try to see who could catch the most fireflies and if Gary didn't respond to the signal to come in his big sister Irma would come to the porch and tell Gary to get inside. I remember being scared of Irma when she yelled for Gary to come inside but she was just being a concerned caregiver to her baby brother. God Bless Irma Pina Mack. I pray that you rest in peace with God Almighty and I am grateful that I knew you and your wonderful family. I am sure your Mom Gloria and your Dad Ben are waiting for you in heaven and can't wait to hold in their loving arms again. God Bless, Diana Samudio Salinas
